Are you, or a loved one
experiencing any of these symptoms?

1

Trouble Swallowing

While eating, do you often feel like food is stuck in your throat or chest? Have
you had recurrent choking? It might not be from eating too fast. It could be the result of an inflamed esophagus, or a tumor blocking the esophagus. Don’t change your diet or change your eating habits, instead talk to your doctor.

2

Daily Heartburn

Do you take antacids regularly? Daily heartburn might not simply be from that plate of wings or an overindulgent weekend. It could be inflammation in the esophagus, or pressure from a growing tumor. Put down the antacids and talk to your doctor.

3

Unexplained Weight Loss

Have you experienced unexplained weight loss recently? It might not be from all those lunchtime salads or new workout plan. About half of people diagnosed with
esophageal cancer lose weight suddenly, without trying to. Listen to what your
body is trying to tell you and talk to your doctor.

* Having one or more of these symptoms does not mean you have esophageal cancer, but it does mean that your body is trying to tell you something. It is important to get any of these symptoms checked by a doctor so that the cause can be found and treated if needed. Catching esophageal issues early makes all the difference.
